This year we decided not to run our outdoor skating and walking trails (#silverlakesskates and #silverlakestrails) so that we could focus on updat
ing the Clubhouse and facilities - we therefore looked at other ways to support our local community and decided to become gold sponsors of a local minor hockey team of 16 teenagers (U13).
Our sponsorship helped support team development, player apparel, and players and families who may have needed additional financial support.
The hockey season got off to a late start, but the EG Eagles wasted no time in winning both the Bradford Blue and Gold Tournament and their home Dunsmuir Tournament in East Gwillimbury. They finished fourth place out of ten teams in the regular season.
As for the playoffs the Eagles beat Newmarket in their first playoff game - the rest of the playoff games begin next weekend.
Come out and support the team in the playoffs at Georgina Ice Palace, and join an amazing group of volunteers and coaches by cheering them on: Friday April 8, 2022 - puck drop 8:45; Saturday April 9, puck drop 1:30 and 6:00.
